Meanwhile, if you look at the leading riders at Unbound, their aero position isn’t much different from on a road bike. Again, this is a silly test: apples to oranges. And who really cares about the minute differences?

Dave - how tall are you? If on edge between L and XL - why did you opt for the XL vs L and increasing the stem length? I'm 6'4" and trying to decide between the 2.

Waxing your chain may take more effort than just dripping more lube on it without cleaning if first, adding to the grit and grime. But for anyone who actually wants to properly clean and lube their chain it takes no more effort to wax than it does to use drip lube, and the chain will last significantly longer which save you money by reducing the frequency with which you buy new chains. Also, that WTB tyre plug looks remarkable like a Dynaplug

I certainly keep riding indoor next to outdoor riding. So easy to do during the week after work or dinner, the weather is always good so no excuse, training in zone 2 much easier, training hill climbing is easy and I really like the “realistic” platform ROUVY provides. The video footage is excellent , can ride everywhere and you can compete with other riders. I have a specific indoor trainer so always ready to go…outdoor in weekends or when I have time during the work week and indoor most of the times during the work week and in weekends when it is pouring rain👍🏽🚴🏽‍♂️

I'd love someone to go to 5 different bike-fitters 5 days in row, what the hell would happen? Fitters 2,3,4 & 5 should say "you're spot on" but bet they wouldn't, and if fitters 2,3,4 & 5 move you about then it's clown world.

Ive stopped riding on the road completely now. If Im going anywhere ill be on the sv or in the car, or walking. No more pedal bike on the road. The hatred is too much., I've seen it in the media, I've experienced it loads of times, and for what. I can ride in my shed, hold a 170bpm pace, get my weight down. If this is the society we have then so be it. Not my problem if they dont invest in proper bike lanes.

Great idea, splash out on an indoor trainer with a similar price to a low to midrange bike and then have to pay monthly or by the hour just to use it. Aren't there better free options?

I mean I guess it depends on the bicycle. For my MTB a chain is 4$ the shimano cassette is abound 10-15$. One of the more quality chain cleaning product's or de-greasers cost about 20$

I only bike outdoors, and I do it despite the season. It only snows a few days a year here so I can usually reschedule my rides around it.

The thing I like most about indoor is that the pedalling is non-stop. You can get a lot more burn units per hour. Also, easy/zone 2 rides don't require discipline the same way to stay in range. Lastly, the time saving of just throwing on the shprts and pedalling a couple minutes later instead of kitting up fully, then taking the bike up or down the stairs. I doesn't replace outdoor riding of course for the sheer joy and it never will. But I'm content to split it 50/50. Ride on!

Riding indoors is better then outside where you end up mixing it up with traffic etc. In LA the roads aren't nice to ride on and the drivers are too often distracted which ends up with crashes. I'm on a Saris wheel on trainer but hope to get a wahoo trainer next year so I can get better resistance to simulate hill climbing and also get power data.

Turbo training is fine, it's something i've never done myself tho, however on Strava there should be completely seperate leader boards, don't see why I have to compete with the weather and people cycling in their nice dry headwind free living rooms.

I think if I was to get my turbo trainer up and running again, I'd consider looking in to GT Bike V. Requires a gaming PC which is a significant hurdl for most, but no subscription fee 👌

I notice my indoor training goes down drastically as soon as the weather turns consistently warm. It’s fun, but nothing beats biking outdoors. It’s the ultimate.

i nearly bought one until i found out about creaking seat post theres no way im paying 9k for engineering garbage AGAIN! it was going to replace my 12k cervelo s5 with its relentless creaking bottom bracket that cost a fortune to sort. These bum companies arent getting another penny off me. I kept the cervelo and bought a Ducati instead.

why the heck did you not change the wheels on the gravel bike?

I pressure wash the chain and cassette while on the bike, avoiding getting anywhere near any bearings. I want to blast the filth out of the chain and cassette, but not the grease out of wheel bearings etc
